Thai Secret Cooking School in Chiang Mai, Thailand offers half day and full day classes focusing on traditional Thai cuisine. We are located in San Sai Village just 20 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai. We pick you up at your hotel in the morning and visit our favorite local market to select some of our ingredients, then we go to our school, Next we are off for a quick tour of the surrounding our organic garden, along the way you will learn some fun facts while harvesting some novel yummies.

Fresh coconut milk at the Sam Yeak market!
At our
school we teach you how to make coconut milk. Starting with cracking open a whole
coconut, shredding the meat out then squeezing the fresh sweat juice out. We have
been doing this from the beginning and continue to make fresh coconut milk
every day.

Before cooking today, we want to pick some ingredients in organic farm.
and the first one, we need a lemon grass for making soup such as chicken in coconut milk soup, hot and sour prow soup.

Do you like Basil ?
This is a sweet bail or Thai basil. We called ho-ra-pha in Thai. It use the leaves for soup and curry.
How to pick a basil ? We pick the leaves or the top of basil and sometimes we pick a branch or stem about that away from the top.

Apple egg plants use for cooking almost all the curry except yellow curry. In yellow curry, we don't add a apple egg plants becuz it resemble Indian curry. what we replace that [what you replace that?]
